Oracle looks to expand in Pleasanton
|
Firm applies for permit to build 181,000-square-foot structure in Hacienda Business Park adjacent to I-580
Oracle Corp. has applied for a permit to construct a big new office building in Hacienda Business Park, a move some observers say is a fresh sign of the software firm's commitment to the East Bay.
The Silicon Valley tech company is seeking a permit for a five-story, 181,000-square-foot office building near the corner of Hacienda Drive and Owens Drive in Pleasanton, according to city officials and an application on file with the municipality. The building would be adjacent to Interstate 580.
After Oracle's purchase of PeopleSoft Inc. a few years ago, some observers had feared Oracle would unleash a massive job-cutting regime in Pleasanton.
