A Guide for using HTML Area and HTML Object in PeopleSoft: An Alternative Perspective

When working with template letters in the HRMS system, Venkateshwara needed to preview an offer letter for the HR users that create and edit the Offer Letter Templates.
However, to do that and show the output on a PeopleSoft page with formatted text is a tedious task when trying to utilize the standard methodology. The standard method is normally to utilize the standard PeopleSoft pages and style sheet objects.
There was a need to format the text to include formatting such as making part of the text bold, italics, different fonts, and even colouring the text.
The standard way of doing this is to create a Style Sheet object and apply the same to the contents on the page. However, there was a need to include the unsaved (transient) data on the page to be shown on the
preview page dynamically.
