Fusion and PeopleSoft 8.47
|
Prior to PeopleTools 8.47 the only of allowed options for PeopleSoft customers to use BEA Web Logic server and IBM Websphere for their web and application servers. However, starting with the new release of PeopleTools 8.47, PeopleSoft users will have the choice of using the J2EE functionality within Oracle’s application server.
When PeopleSoft customers upgrade to PeopleTools 8.47 they will still have the option of using WebLogic or Websphere or they can migrate to Oracle’s application server 10G.
Fusion’s Middleware is also available to customers that want to begin using the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Oracle Fusion Middleware is a unified suite of standards-based middleware components that provides a comprehensive technology foundation – and application platform suite and best of breed capabilities.
A service oriented architecture provides a standard based approach that allows applications and processes to be used together from reusable services. These services are units of discrete business functionality that can be easily used in your PeopleSoft business processes and your PeopleSoft applications.
